Safeguards for Passengers Waiting on Platforms --- Platform Screen Doors

The Taipei Metro has been committed to the safety and security of its passengers from day one. To provide passengers with a safer and more comfortable waiting environment, we began to install Platform Screen Doors (PSD) in 1995, and expect all stations to be fitted with PSDs by 2018.

59 stations out of the 117 stations across the entire Taipei Metro system were built with integrated PSD, and the PSD at the remaining 58 stations were undertaken by the TRTC. In total, 109 stations are now equipped with PSD, i.e. 93.2% of all stations. Installation works and tests at the remaining 8 stations, including Qiyan, Hongshulin, Zhongyi, Qilian, Fuxinggang, Xinbeitou, Xiaobitan and Tucheng stations, are currently being performed during non-service hours. Completion is expected for 2018, at which point all Taipei Metro stations will be fitted with PSD.
