Each combo ticket is priced at NT$990 and includes a specially designed, collectible EasyCard along with an admission ticket to the Taipei 101 observatory. In addition to functioning as a Taipei Metro One-Day Pass, the EasyCard comes preloaded with NT$150 value, allowing travelers to conveniently explore Taipei with a single card.

The “Taipei 101 Observatory & Taipei Metro” ticket can be purchased through the Taipei FunPASS official website and the KLOOK online travel platform. Upon arrival in Taipei, travelers can present their e-ticket QR code to redeem the combo ticket at Taipei Main Station or Taipei 101/World Trade Center Station. Cruise passengers arriving at Keelung Harbor are also welcome to purchase this ticket, and can redeem it at Lion Travel’s Keelung Branch located in the Keelung Harbor Service Building.

The EasyCard included in this combo ticket package combines three functions in one card. As a Taipei Metro One-day Pass, it activates upon first swipe into the Metro and lasts until the end of operations on the same day. The card also comes preloaded with NT$150 value, which can be used for rides on the Metro, buses, intercity buses, or trains, as well as for small-value payments. Once the stored value is used up, the card can be topped up for continued use.

The card design incorporates Taipei Metro trains and route imagery, while also featuring the Taipei 101 building, highlighting the city’s iconic landmark. It represents Taipei as a vibrant, forward-moving city full of energy.

This cross-industry collaboration combines the convenience of Taipei Metro transportation with the international fame of Taipei 101, attracting both domestic and international travelers to explore Taipei City’s attractions, all easily reachable via the Metro.

To cope with the humongous turnout at the 2026 New Year’s Eve Countdown Party sponsored by Taipei City Government, Taipei Metro brought in an additional 2,900 staff members to its manpower that night – including Metro Police and volunteers. Their duties were to help with directing crowds, patrolling platforms, selling tickets, keeping order, as well as monitoring escalators, ticket gates, and entry and exit points.

After the end of the party, nearby metro stations reported large number of people at the gates, as partygoers began heading home. Most people were able to catch their trains and make it home within 1 hour. Taipei Metro is proud to report that every passenger went home safely and happily, allowing the agency to successfully fulfill its New Year Eve's transport challenge.

Last year's special discount on the Songshan-Xindian Line will continue into this year. To facilitate crowd dispersal after the Taipei Dome concert and the countdown, from 22:30 on December 31, 2025, to 06:00 on January 1, 2026, passengers entering from Nanjing Sanmin Station or Taipei Arena Station will enjoy their ride for free, regardless of the number of stations traveled.

At Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall Station, special crowd control measures will be in place. Concert attendees will be directed to enter via Exit 5, while New Year’s Eve partygoers are to exit through Exits 2, 3, and 4. Please follow on-site staff instructions for safety.

Starting December 24, 2025, the Go! Taipei Metro app will launch a new "Quick Info Access" feature under its AI Smart Customer Service, enabling passengers to quickly check route statuses, network maps, timetables, and first/last train times. QR codes on New Year's Eve posters promoting the "2 Lines In, 3 Lines Out" strategy can also be scanned for real-time updates.

Passengers are advised to top up electronic tickets or purchase single-journey tickets in advance to speed up entry and exit.

● 2 Lines In, 3 Lines Out—Enjoy a Smooth New Year's Eve

For arrival, use the Bannan Line and Tamsui-Xinyi Line ("2 Lines In"). For departure, choose among the Bannan Line, Tamsui-Xinyi Line, and Songshan-Xindian Line ("3 Lines Out") to avoid congestion at Taipei City Hall Station or Taipei 101/World Trade Center Station. Recommended stations include Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall Station, Yongchun Station, Xinyi Anhe Station, Xiangshan Station, Taipei Arena Station, and Nanjing Sanmin Station.

If you plan to watch fireworks near Taipei 101/World Trade Center Station, please take appropriate safety precautions.

● After the Countdown, Take the Green Line—Connect to Brown, Red, Orange, or Blue Lines

Based on past experience, queues for the Bannan and Tamsui-Xinyi Lines can be long after the event. As an alternative, walk about 20 minutes from Taipei City Hall Station or Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall Station to Nanjing Sanmin Station or Taipei Arena Station, or take the shuttle bus on Guangfu South Road to the Songshan-Xindian Line.

● Songshan-Xindian Line Special Offer

To encourage walking and use of the Songshan-Xindian Line, from 22:30 on December 31, 2025, to 06:00 on January 1, 2026, passengers entering Nanjing Sanmin Station or Taipei Arena Station with an electronic ticket will enjoy free rides for that trip. Passengers without electronic tickets can claim a free single-journey ticket at dedicated service counters near ticket machines at these stations. Please follow staff instructions and avoid pushing to ensure safety.

● Taipei Dome Concert Crowd Control at Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall Station

To manage crowds after the Taipei Dome concert and for the New Year's Eve party, concert attendees will enter via Exit 5, while partygoers will exit via Exits 2, 3, and 4. Bannan Line trains will operate at peak frequency. Skip-stop operations may be activated for trains heading toward Nangang Exhibition Center Station based on crowd conditions, and empty trains may be dispatched in the direction of Dingpu Station to pick up passengers at Taipei City Hall Station or Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall Stations.

For safety reasons, starting at 22:00 on December 31, 2025, Far Eastern Group will be closing the escalator outside Exit 5, the garden corridor, and the underground mall passage. Exit 3 will be closed starting 00:00 (midnight) on January 1, 2026.

Passengers are encouraged to use the Go! Taipei Metro app to plan trips in advance and check real-time crowd and route information before traveling.

Xinshuanglian Linear Park

Soft, glowing lights illuminate the pathways, guiding visitors on a warm and inviting journey. Follow Jamie’s lead and step into a delightful adventure toward the next destination with Taipei Metro.

Xinzhongshan Linear Park – Southern Section

For the first time, the southern section between Zhongshan Station Exit 1 and Exit R5 joins the exhibition. Colorful light strips, white and yellow spherical lamps, and rose-gold light strings create a mesmerizing forest-like corridor. Amid lush greenery and artistic illumination, Jamie reclines gracefully on a blue ripple waterfall, enjoying a serene nighttime forest bath with a wine glass in hand.

Da’an Park

Outside Exit 2 of Da’an Park Station, visitors can stroll along the starlit walkway to reach the 9-meter-high Wishing Tree, where butterflies spiral upward, carrying dreams and blessings to the starry sky.

Taipei Metro appreciates the valuable and constructive feedback from all sectors regarding metro capacity. All relevant operational experience and peak-hour data will be compiled and provided to the competent authorities as reference for policy-making.

According to data, between 07:30–08:30 on weekdays, the segment from Far Eastern Hospital Station to Longshan Temple Station sees up to 36,000 passengers entering the system. The most crowded time is between 08:00–08:30, with the most congested segment being between Jiangzicui Station and Longshan Temple Station.

To alleviate congestion in this segment, starting August 18, the origin stations for two peak-hour extra trains on the Bannan Line have been adjusted from Far Eastern Hospital Station to Jiangzicui Station. The departure times and stations for the six peak-hour extra trains are as follows:

- 07:54 from Banqiao Station

- 08:07 from Jiangzicui Station

- 08:16 from Jiangzicui Station

- 08:20 from Banqiao Station

- 08:25 from Far Eastern Hospital Station

- 08:34 from Far Eastern Hospital Station

Additionally, starting August 20, four “space-optimized trains” have been deployed during the 08:00–08:30 period on weekdays, running through the segment from Far Eastern Hospital Station to Longshan Temple Station to expedite passenger flow at Xinpu and Banqiao Stations. Initial observations on the first day of deployment show promising results. Taipei Metro will continue monitoring the situation and promote train modifications to increase the number of space-optimized trains.

These space-optimized trains feature five key improvements: smoother passenger flow, optimized space, multi-functional design, clear guidance, and increased capacity. They provide a friendly environment for passengers with wheelchairs and strollers, encourage movement toward the interior of the train, and enhance signage for clearer boarding paths. After interior optimization, each train can accommodate approximately 72 additional passengers. Once the entire fleet is upgraded, peak-hour capacity can increase by 1,000 passengers per hour.

The Bannan Line is the highest-capacity route in the Taipei Metro system. Currently, the shortest interval between trains during peak hours is about 2 minutes and 15 seconds. Due to system hardware and software limitations, such as maintaining safe distances between trains, the number of departures has reached its maximum.

Taipei Metro advises passengers to take advantage of extra train schedules, move toward the interior of the train when boarding, and consider departing earlier to avoid peak times. The company will continue to monitor actual passenger flow and dynamically adjust train schedules to ensure a smooth and safe travel experience.

Every escalator within metro stations has a prominent yellow sign displaying the "Hold the Handrail, and Stand Firmly" slogan. In addition to these signs, Taipei Metro regularly reminds passengers to pay attention to the safety of themselves and others while using escalators through the Go! Taipei Metro app, animated advertisements, colorful signage and announcements, station broadcasts, platform TVs, and other channels. Taipei Metro calls upon passengers to respect each other and maintain order while riding the metro.

During major events with large crowds, such as baseball games at Taipei Dome or New Year's Eve events, extra staff are assigned to hold signs next to escalators to remind passengers to stand on either side of escalators, board in an orderly fashion, and not run or rush onto escalators. For example, when transporting crowds after a baseball game ended at Taipei Dome, passengers followed staff guidance, maintained excellent order, and left the venue in a smooth fashion.

In the near future, Taipei Metro will begin to use signs and broadcasts during peak hours at major transfer stations, such as Taipei Main Station, to remind passengers that they can stand on both sides of the escalators to relieve crowding more quickly.

Passengers are advised to pay extra attention to the movement of escalators and to avoid using mobile phones while on them to prevent stepping off or falling. Passengers should stand within the "yellow box" areas indicated on the steps, and refrain from getting too close to the gaps between the steps or side panels, so that skirts, shoelaces, or soft rubber shoes don't get caught in the comb plate. Parents must make sure that accompanying children use the escalator in a safe and proper manner. Passengers carrying heavy items, those feeling unwell, and elderly passengers are advised to use the elevators instead.

Taipei Metro adheres to high standards for escalator safety. In addition to having a rigorous maintenance plan, regular upkeep is performed monthly to ensure our equipment is in good condition. Passengers can ride on escalators with peace of mind.

Travelers purchasing travel passes in Taiwan for use when traveling to Japan can use an electronic ticket or a single journey ticket to take the Taipei Metro or New Taipei Metro to Taipei Main Station, Beimen Station, Sanchong Station, or New Taipei Industrial Park Station. From there, they can walk to Taoyuan Metro's A1 Taipei Main Station, A2 Sanchong Station, or A3 New Taipei Industrial Park Station, and use the Taiwan-Japan Travel Pass to take the Taoyuan Metro to Taoyuan International Airport. Upon arrival in Japan, they can activate th Keisei Skyliner ticket to quickly reach downtown Tokyo from Narita Airport. Travelers who purchase the Tokyo Metro 24/48/72-hour pass can activate the pass to explore Tokyo.

The evolution of Taipei Metro's signage fonts will take place across two phases. The first phase, started in June 2023, aims to accommodate the increasing number of tourists from Japan and South Korea by adding Japanese and Korean indicators at 21 key tourist stations, including Taipei Main Station, Taipei 101/World Trade Center Station, Ximen Station, Longshan Temple Station, and Jiantan Station.

The second phase focuses on creating a senior and dementia-friendly environment by gradually changing station name fonts on Taipei Metro signage to bold fonts, making them clearer and easier to read, thus creating a more livable and accessible city.

In response to rapid changes in the social population structure, Taipei Metro has incorporated the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) into our corporate management and translated them into practical actions, continuously promoting an elderly-friendly environment at all stations.

The Pet Charter Train is about to depart. Owners, make sure your pets are wearing their chest straps and leashes. You may now take your fur children out of their strollers or cages, so that they can enjoy their ride on the metro in comfort!" broadcasted Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an to the 36 pet owners onboard, along with their accompanying 42 small-to-medium-sized dogs and cats.

At the April 9 press conference, Mayor Chiang stated that Taipei Metro has always been a pet-friendly form of public transportation. The company has spent a great deal of effort making this Pet Charter Train event a reality, giving pet owners the chance to fulfill their dreams of riding the metro alongside their pets. In addition to providing animal-friendly environments and pet-friendly transportation, Taipei City also has plans to continue the establishment of animal-related protection and education policies, which include the creation of a Non-Canine-Feline Case Investigation Team and implementation of mandatory pre-adoption education. By working to realize these goals, the Mayor hopes to make Taipei a livable city not only for people but animals as well.

Many rushed to register for this Pet Train event. Due to its popularity but being mindful not to impact the quality of the event, Taipei Metro decided to accept 6 more groups of participants, resulting in a total of 36 pet owners and 42 small-to-medium-sized canine and feline passengers. Mayor Chiang Wan-an, who is also a dog lover, joined everyone onboard the train, petting each furry companion and listening to owners sharing their opinions of the experience. The owners themselves were excited and couldn't wait to let their fur babies out of their cages to explore once the train had departed, with everyone chatting and playing together. At the terminal station Yuanshan Station, many metro fans stood in wait to welcome the arrival of the Pet Charter Train and take pictures of this historic moment.

On the day of the event, the pet market outside Yuanshan Station opened at 10 am. Many pets and their owners gathered there, with sellers showcasing carefully selected items fit for their beloved companions, offering everyone a great place to spend their weekend. The Taipei City Animal Protection Office also set up public welfare booths on site that offered services such as free rabies vaccinations as well as the promotion of animal protection practices to spread awareness about its importance.

Taipei Metro invested much time and thought into the planning of the event to ensure everything ran smoothly. Cats and dogs were separated into different carriages to prevent unnecessary encounters. Vets, trainers, and behaviorists were stationed on the train; equipment such as air filters and portable fences were also installed onboard. Furthermore, Taipei Metro arranged for a thorough cleaning of the carriages after the event before returning the train to its standard assignment.

The Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation (TRTC) joined hands with Unicuisine Global Foods Corporation to set up the “Metro Fresh” showcase area at MRT Nanjing Fuxing Station. 

Opening to the public on September 30, the space highlights the use of technology in breaking the limits of weather and geographical conditions to create an ideal environment for raising vegetables. The exhibition area demonstrates how pesticide-free edible plants can be grown inside an MRT station, and how a plot measuring roughly 10-pings can yield roughly 1,500 kg of agricultural produce each year.

The Smart Agriculture Demonstration Zone is located at the B1 connecting corridor of MRT Nanjing Fuxing Station, which links the Songshan-Xindian Line with the Wenhu Line and is situated right beneath Exit 5.

The facility resembles tech company cleanrooms, populated by rows of plants growing in tubs in the hydroponic system. Thanks to the support of communication and automated technology systems, growers carry out real-time monitoring of the environment. 

The LED light source and industry-level incubating environment are just some of the many tools which ensure the growth of healthy and pollution-free crops in a place where temperature, humidity, and various factors are kept under control. 

Those interested in the pesticide-free produce can also visit the dedicated stalls on the third floor of the station building, where they can purchase goods ranging from delicious and fresh vegetables to prepared salads using these produces.

Following the success of the Metro Corner Mini-shops and Metro Shop MRT Product Shop, TRTC established the Metro Fresh showcase area as a part of the company's attempt to diversify its offerings, which hopefully meet the needs of working commuters accessing the station.
