What is the policy and fare for taking bicycles on Taipei metro?

1. To promote leisure activities in line with Taipei City Government's policy, Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation (TRTC) allows passengers to travel by metro with their bicycles. During weekends/holidays (all day) and weekdays (10:00-16:00, 22:00 to the end of service), passengers with regular (non-folded) bicycles may access the metro system from all stations except the following: all stations on the Wenhu Line, Tamsui Station, Taipei Main Station, Zhongxiao Xinsheng Station, Zhongxiao Fuxing Station, Nanjing Fuxing Station, and Daan Station. Passengers who wish to take a bicycle on the metro system should purchase an unrefundable single-journey ticket at the information counter of stations where bicycle access is allowed. The fare is NT$80 and the ticket is valid for one-person-with-one-bicycle only. The ticket holder should enter and exit the station together with the bicycle. For related information, please visit the Taipei Metro website.

2. Due to limited space in Wenhu Line and Circular Line’s trains and stations, regular bicycles are not permitted on these two lines.

3. Folding bicycles that have been properly packed (the size of which may not exceed 165cm on its longest side, and the sum of its length, width, and height may not exceed 220cm) are allowed to be brought into metro stations as luggage and are not subject to the restrictions stipulated under the Notice to Passengers Traveling with Bicycles.
