FAQs

At what moment do train doors open and close on High-Capacity Systems? Who is in control? What happens if the doors are obstructed?

On High-Capacity Systems, after a train arrives and stops at a station, the train doors will open automatically. There will be a departure warning to remind passengers that dwell time is almost over. Train operators will ensure embarkation is complete, and will wait a brief moment to close the train doors to confirm passenger safety. The train can leave for the next station after a door closing self-detection process that checks that all doors are properly closed. If obstruction (width 1 cm, height 7.5 cm or diameter up to 2 cm) is detected by the train doors, train doors will stop closing and reopen. This will continue until the obstruction has been removed completely. Trains cannot proceed until train doors are completely closed.
