• Platform Gap

Note: As trains may sway during movement, it is normal to have a gap between train and platform edge. Passengers should take care of the gap to avoid getting caught in the gap and hurting themselves. Wheelchair users are advised to enter the car backwards to prevent wheels becoming trapped.

• Yellow Warning Strip

Location: Along the platform edge.

Note: Do not cross the Yellow Warning Strip at the platform edge until the train has come to a complete stop.

• Emergency Stop Button

Location: Two Emergency Stop Buttons are placed at one-third intervals along platforms at stations equipped with half-height platform doors and Wenhu Line stations.

Use: Press the Emergency Stop Button if objects or someone walks or falls onto the tracks or gets stuck in the platform gap. This will prevent trains from arriving at or departing from the station.

Note: Improper use of the Emergency Stop Button will incur a fine of NT$50,000.

• Smoke Exhaust Button (Underground Stations)

Location: On the wall or column adjacent to the smoke exhaust system in underground stations.

Use: If the smoke exhaust system fails to switch on automatically, the manual switch can be used.

Note: Improper use of the Smoke Exhaust Button will incur a fine of NT$50,000.

• Platform Fire Control System

Location: Fire extinguishers and hydrants are located on all platforms.

Use: Because of high-voltage electricity used near the tracks, always report fires to station staff immediately before making use of the Fire Control System.

• Under Platform Clearance

Location: Under platform edge.

Use: As a refuge for anyone accidentally falling onto the tracks.

• Evacuation Lights

Location: Evacuation lights are located on platform and concourse levels.

Use: In case of an emergency when evacuation is necessary, follow the evacuation lights and instructions of station staff.

• Electrical Rail Warning Sign

Location: On top of the electrical rail protection cover.

Note: High voltage electricity passes through the rail that runs next to the normal tracks. Touching this rail could lead to electric shock.

• Emergency Intercom

Location: On a wall or column of every platform.

Use: In case of an emergency, press the emergency call button to speak with operation staff.

• Door Warning Lights

Location: Above platform doors.

Use: When the lights flash, the arrival of a train is imminent. Door Open Indicator Lamp indicates that platform doors are about to open, and stop flashing till platform doors completely open.
